Use the Steam desktop app, the mobile app, or open steamcommunity.com in your browser. Make sure you are signed in to the Steam account that should receive the gift.

In the Steam app, click Friends & Chat in the bottom-right corner, then click the Add a Friend icon. In a browser, open your profile and select Friends → Add a Friend.

On the Add a Friend page you will see a section for a friend invite link. Click Create a new invite link (or Copy link if one already exists). Steam will generate a link that looks like this:

Copy the full link and paste it into the field on your order page, then click Submit. We will send the friend request and deliver your gift once it is accepted.

Before you submit
Double-check that the link belongs to the Steam account you want the gift on. The link cannot be changed after submission, and your Steam profile must be able to receive friend requests.

Can’t find the option?
If your Steam account is new or limited, the invite link feature may not be available yet. In that case, please contact support with your activation code and we will help you.
